The College Library Instructional Computing Commons (CLICC) was developed as a collaborative effort between the Academic Technology Services, Center for Digital Humanities, Social Sciences Computing, the Office of Instructional Computing, and the Library. CLICC combines common and multi-discipline instructional computing in one venue, bringing together the diverse expertise of both central and local instructional organizations.

Who can use & How to log in

Any currently-enrolled student, faculty, or staff member with a valid UCLA logon and password can use CLICC services, including laptops, printing, and equipment checkout. UCLA logons are usually created by the Bruin Online (BOL) office at the time of registration/orientation. They are the first part of your UCLA email address (e.g. jbruin for ). Set one up at http://logon.ucla.edu/. Also from this site, look up a forgotten UCLA logon or reset a forgotten password.

To use the computer stations in the CLICC lab, type your UCLA logon and password at the prompt. From there, browse the Internet, check email, use CLICC software like Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop, and print.

Extension students can use CLICC if they are concurrently enrolled in UCLA classes. Members of the public can use public stations on the 2nd floor of Powell Library.

Laptops

Borrow a laptop from the College Library, the Charles E. Young Research Library or five other campus library locations. The laptops have both Windows and Mac OS X, and have the same software as CLICC desktop computer stations. Printing

Printing is available from both desktop and laptop computers computer stations. For more information about how to print, print charges, print options, please see Printers.

Instruction

In addition to hosting classes with computing needs in electronic learning spaces, CLICC also offers assistance with applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Apple iMovie, and website design. Training Specialists assist individual users during office hours; workshops are also available for instructors' courses. Please see Help and Office Hours? for a list of this quarter's office hours.
